WASHINGTON – Senators Mike Lee (R-UT), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Steve Daines (R-MT), and Pete Ricketts (R-NE) introduced the Stop California from Advancing Regulatory Burden Act, or Stop CARB Act, to rein in California's outsized influence over national emissions standards. For decades, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has used federal waivers under the Clean Air Act (CAA) to set unreasonably stringent emissions standards, forcing businesses and consumers nationwide to comply with California's radical environmental agenda. Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) leads the companion effort in the House of Representatives.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced two pieces of legislation—the Locating the Inefficiencies of Bureaucratic Edicts to Reform and Transform the Economy (LIBERATE) Act and the Promoting Innovation and Offering the Needed Escape from Exhaustive Regulations (PIONEER) Act—to reduce excessive federal regulations and encourage innovation across the economy. Together, these bills aim to streamline federal regulations, remove barriers to innovation, and restore the proper balance of power between the federal government and the American people.

WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the Silencers Helping Us Save Hearing (SHUSH) Act, a bill to eliminate the excessive regulation of firearm suppressors. The bill seeks to simplify the purchase process for law-abiding citizens and reduce unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles. Senate cosponsors of the SHUSH Act include Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and John Cornyn (R-TX). The SHUSH Act has garnered the support of the National Association for Gun Rights, Gun Owners of America, the National Rifle Association and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

WASHINGTON – Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the Childcare Worker Opportunity Act, a bill to alleviate the escalating childcare crisis in the District of Columbia. The proposed legislation seeks to repeal the stringent 2016 regulation that mandates childcare workers to hold a college degree, a rule that has significantly contributed to the shortage of childcare providers and the skyrocketing costs families face. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has introduced companion legislation in the House of Representatives.
