Lee to Chair Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; Announces Staff Director

WASHINGTON – Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) released the following statement after receiving the gavel to chair the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

  

"I am humbled and honored to take the gavel as the next Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee," said Senator Lee. "Our nation stands at a pivotal moment. It's time to harness our nation’s abundant natural resources to achieve energy independence, stimulate economic growth, and return stewardship of our beautiful lands to the American people who know them best. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to make life affordable again for families in Utah and across America. "
  

In conjunction with this transition, Wendy Baig will assume the role of Staff Director for the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. She has been a vital part of Senator Lee's staff for over twelve years, serving as his Legislative Director,  Executive Director of the Senate GOP Steering Committee, and most recently as his Chief Counsel.
