Two Town Halls, One Important Dialogue
April 7, 2015
Last week I had the opportunity to hold town hall meetings in West Valley City and Kaysville, Utah. I appreciated the many hundreds of people who took time out of their evenings to visit with me and discuss important issues facing our country. Despite the snow flurries, technical difficulties, and the landing of Air Force One and visit by the President of the United States, the town halls were well attended and a great success.
Town hall visits play a significant role in my effort to serve the Utahns whom I represent. These events are important in two ways. First, town hall visits give me the opportunity to update Utahns about my legislative efforts as a United States Senator. I use this as a forum where I can provide specifics about ways in which I am working to bring constitutional reform to Washington. Second, these events provide an opportunity to answer constituent questions and hear first-hand about the issues which are important to local Utahns. Town hall visits are one of my favorite ways in which I connect with the Utahns whom I serve.
Some notable topics that we discussed during these town halls were national defense, tax reform, immigration reform, separation of powers, congressional term limits, higher education reform, over-regulation, and a variety of others. You can watch the full recording of these events below, and I also invite you to sign up to be part of my future tele-townhalls and townhalls.
