Academy Nominations
It is an honor for me to nominate fine young men and women to attend our fine service academies. My office is accepting applications from Utah students who are seeking a nomination to the United States Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, or the Military Academy at West Point for the class entering in July of 2025 (class of 2029).
To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements set by law and each respective academy and be nominated from an authorized person, including a member of the United States Senate or House of Representatives.
Students interested a nomination should contact my Salt Lake City office in the spring of their junior year of high school to begin the application process. Also, please note that it is extremely important that students also begin the application process with the academies themselves. You may apply online to each academy. Even though you may have a preference among the academies, I suggest that you apply to each of them, including the Merchant Marine and Coast Guard academies. All of the academies are fine institutions, and doing this will increase your chance of success.
In addition to completing the online application, there are additional documents, including letters of recommendation, test scores, and your high school transcript that will need to be provided. Complete information can be found within the online application.
The online form must be completed and all other materials received or postmarked by October 23, 2024. You are responsible for ensuring all parts of your application are received in my Salt Lake City office and at the academies on time. The online application will provide additional information.
Interviews will be held in November in my Salt Lake City office.
If you have any questions concerning the application process, please contact the academy coordinators in my Salt Lake City office at (801) 524 – 5933 or email Jessica_Christopher@lee.senate.gov.
